El Libro Salvaje de Juan Villoro
This is a very special project: the illustrations for the superbly written novel by one of Mexico’s remarkable writers of today, Juan Villoro (published in 2008 by Fondo de Cultura Económica, for its young readers’ collection «A la orilla el viento»). All illustrations were executed mostly in a traditional technique, graphite, with a minimum of digital interventions here and there. Here I show the cover art with a detail of its crosshatching technique, plus several vignettes from the narrative.
