








These are the first three of a set of six cover illustrations for a collection of books on classic English literature stories, published by Richmond. All were executed with traditional and digital techniques: a detailed graphite drawing over fine tracing paper, plus digital colour. The unusual composition of the figures and background are a consequence of leaving space for titles, text and other graphic devices. Plus, they produce a quite unexpected, dynamic effect. The particular charm of this traditional/digital technique can be best appreciated in the zoomed details shown below.
